That's very good to know. Essentially, I can detach the ftdi_sio driver from
my device then. 
Can't this be done by calling libusb calls even if I were to use d2xx? 

In other words, if I need to detach the driver, does it imply that I must
use libftdi (rather than libftd2xx)?
