Is the only point of moving libftdi to libusb 1.0 simply to gain solid async
support without dirty tricks?  If so, then Jie's option 1 or option 2 seems
best, since win32 would not necessarily lack any of the new libftdi
functionality.  Gerd wrote on Aug 5th:
