Any restriction on how soon or late you have to change the status of the "LATCH ENABLE" (before and?) after the SPI command?  If not, then this is reasonable.  But I'd still find a different solution for the PWM.

Not strict restriction how fast to change the status of the "LATCH ENABLE"  after the SPI data.
We have found the PWM on the motherboard (one of the pins on the TFT LCD connector).
