Urgh, the linked code is under BSD license and has borrowed code from libftdi, which is under GPLv2 license... please don't "import" this code :-)

No problem. libftdi already can be built with libusb-1.0 with my patch installed before I know these URL. :-) So it's very unlikely I would peek those code.
