We are going to switch our production router to xtables-addons.
It makes it really lot easier to move to new kernel version.
I can just report kernel 2.6.36 with Xtables-addons-1.30 is working fine
for me (on testing machine).

Xtables-addons should be fine. It adds a very small compatibility layer,
the performance "loss" shouldn't be measurable. You can use that until we
(or someone else) has ported ipt_ACCOUNT to a newer kernel version.
