Unfortunately, I'm not able to physically inspect the connections for the
chip in the device.
However, I will say that I did not experience this problem when using the
proprietary ftdi2xx library. I had initially started development of our
driver using that library, since I was adapting some existing code that uses
it to Linux. Before I ported the FTDI interface part of the driver to
libftdi, the chip did not require a reset/new usb connection between runs.
